[ IMST (14) Meeting Rosters ] [ IMST (15) Meeting Rosters ]
The IMST (14) and IMST (15) panels review small business applications in the general areas of cell biology, molecular biology, genetics, molecular imaging, bioinformatics, and applications with a dominant focus in computational and mathematical sciences. It encompasses some of the scientific disciplines covered by the Cell Biology (CB) , Bioengineering Sciences and Technologies [BST] and Genes, Genomes, and Genetics [GGG] integrated review groups. Specific areas covered by IMST (14) and IMST (15) include:
- Cell-based technologies for monitoring molecular interactions and/or cellular activity, including development of microscopy instrumentation, reagents, and assays
- Technologies for cell culture, separation, and high-throughput screening and sorting
- Technologies for the detection of nucleic acids, including emerging oligonucleotide and micro RNA technologies
- Technologies for molecular genetics, including protein expression platforms, gene therapy, and transgenic systems
- Technologies and assay development for genetic, genomics analysis and functional genomics
- Technologies and methods for image processing, data analysis, data management, data modeling, and data mining
- Bioinformatics, computational and systems biology, metabolic and network modeling
- Software and systems engineering
- Ontologies, text mining, data mining, neural networks, pattern recognition, and expert systems
Note: These two small business panels are a result of study section realignment for the April 2011 application deadline. Prior small business panels covering Computational Biology, Imaging Process, and Data Mining [formerly IMST (14)], Genes, Genomes, and Genetics [formerly IMST (15)], and Cell Biology and Molecular Imaging [formerly IMST (16)] were combined and then functionally divided into two separate, but scientifically identical, panels [new IMST (14) and new IMST (15)].
Small business panels with most closely related areas of similar science listed in rank order are:
Biological Chemistry, Biophysics, and Drug Discovery [IMST (10) and IMST (11)] Basic and Integrative Bioengineering [IMST (12) and IMST (13)]
